"It was 1984. I was working for an ad agency when I read a newspaper article about the sprinter Carl Lewis and his goal to win 4 gold medals at the LA Olympics happening later that year. I'd always wanted to sail and I was a runner in my youth, so right then and there, I quit my job and went down to The Royal Cape Yacht Club. Three weeks later I was sailing around the world, bound for Los Angeles to watch the Olympics. That's when I fell in love with travel."
